Syntax Talent Solutions is hiring a REMOTE Tax Manager/Tax Advisor who sits within an hour of Annapolis, MD and will oversee the tax strategy, compliance, and planning for high net worth clients. This role involves managing tax risks, optimizing tax efficiency, preparing returns and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. 

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and enhance financial performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Lead and mentor the tax department team, providing guidance on complex tax issues.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to support business decisions and new initiatives.
- Collaborate with external auditors and consultants to ensure compliance and optimize tax positions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization.
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in corporate tax, including compliance, planning, and strategy.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and laws.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
