Job Description

Overview: A precision metalworking manufacturer specializing in progressive die stamping and value-added machining is seeking a skilled Die Maker to join its growing toolroom team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a modern, ISO-certified environment with a long-established reputation for producing tight-tolerance components for demanding industries including aerospace, medical, and defense.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, repair, and maintain progressive and single-hit stamping dies.
  • Troubleshoot dies during production and make necessary adjustments to ensure consistent part quality.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
  • Operate surface grinders, mills, lathes, and other toolroom equipment with high precision.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure tooling performance meets customer specifications.
  • Perform die setup and validation for initial production runs.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on dies to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of die modifications and repair history.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Die Maker in a metal stamping environment.
  • Proficient in tool and die fitting, machining, and assembly.
  • Strong knowledge of progressive die design and function.
  • Ability to diagnose issues related to die wear, alignment, and material feed.
  • Familiarity with tool steels and heat-treating processes.
  • Experience with high-volume, tight-tolerance production environments preferred.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards is a plus.
  • Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification preferred.
