A well-established engineering firm based in Atlanta is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and conduct geotechnical investigations, including site analysis and data collection.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, and workflows, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
- Prepare technical reports and sections of more complex reports, presenting findings clearly.
- Provide engineering support during construction, including progress reporting and overseeing construction procedures under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Research and assess alternative design approaches, site conditions, and compliance with regulatory specifications.
- Contribute to estimating man-hours, material quantities, and project costs.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Conduct field observations, including quality assurance and quality control inspections.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with exposure to site investigations and geotechnical design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred, or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience with geotechnical field investigations, soil testing, and data analysis.
- Proficient in geotechnical design and analysis software (PLAXIS, GeoStudio, gINT experience is a plus).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in technical report writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
