Overview:
A progressive and fast-growing financial institution in Southwest Michigan is seeking a results-driven Director of Commercial Lending Sales. This leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives on building high-performing teams, driving strategic growth, and partnering with cross-functional teams to expand commercial banking services.
This position reports directly to senior leadership and serves as a succession opportunity for an experienced leader aiming to grow into a Chief Lending Officer role.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coach a team of Commercial and Business Loan Officers across multiple markets
Identify sales performance gaps and develop targeted sales strategies
Participate in client meetings to mentor lenders and ensure high service standards
Oversee sales pipeline development and revenue generation initiatives
Analyze performance metrics and prepare regular reporting for executive leadership
Collaborate closely with Treasury Management, Merchant Services, and Retail teams
Identify new markets and customer segments to drive business growth
Ensure readiness for internal and external audits and manage special projects as needed
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial lending, treasury, and merchant services
Minimum 5 years in a sales management or commercial lending leadership role
Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and coaching abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Must possess reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Willingness to travel up to 75% regionally
