Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a skilled and safety-focused CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) Service Technician with a valid Class B Gas Fitter’s License to join their growing operations team. This technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNG fueling equipment and vehicle fuel systems across a variety of commercial and municipal sites. Key Responsibilities:
Install and service CNG fueling infrastructure including compressors, storage vessels, gas dryers, dispensers, valves, and associated piping
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components of CNG systems
Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on high-pressure gas systems
Identify and repair leaks, pressure drops, or component malfunctions in accordance with applicable codes
Interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide repairs and system installation
Maintain accurate records of service, inspections, calibrations, and safety checks
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal gas codes and safety standards (e.g., NFPA 52, DOT, OSHA)
Provide technical support to clients and end users on the safe operation and maintenance of CNG systems
Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response or after-hours support as needed
Requirements:
Valid Class B Gas Fitter’s License
3+ years of experience in gas systems, industrial maintenance, or fuel station equipment (CNG preferred)
Solid understanding of high-pressure gas systems, natural gas codes, and CNG fuel delivery systems
Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings, wiring diagrams, and flow schematics
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
Comfortable working independently and in outdoor environments
Proficiency with basic hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and multimeters
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed
Willingness to travel locally or regionally for service calls and installations
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ANGI, Bauer, Galileo, or similar CNG systems
Certification in CNG vehicle fuel system inspection (NGV 2/3)
CDL with Hazmat endorsement is a plus
Familiarity with SCADA, PLC, or automation systems
