Job Description:

We have partnered with an award-winning firm seeking a passionate and experienced Civil Rights Attorney to join our legal team. As a Civil Rights Attorney, you will play a crucial role in advocating for justice, equality, and the protection of civil liberties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil rights law, a commitment to social justice, and the ability to handle a diverse range of cases.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct legal research and analysis on civil rights issues.
  2. Represent clients in civil rights cases, including but not limited to discrimination, police misconduct, and constitutional violations.
  3. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on civil rights matters.
  4. Draft legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
  5. Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm.
  6. Stay updated on changes in civil rights laws and precedents.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  2. Admission to the Bar in NY
  3. Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing civil rights law.
  4. Strong knowledge of federal and state civil rights laws.
  5. Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to social justice and civil liberties.
  7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
