Job Description

A well-established family-owned construction company in Southeast South Dakota is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team as part of long-term succession planning due to upcoming retirements.

This company performs a variety of construction projects and also operates a trucking division involving side dumps, belly dumps, and material hauling. They are looking for a versatile, organized leader who enjoys variety in day-to-day operations and is willing to jump in wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction and trucking operations
• Coordinate crews, equipment, schedules, and logistics
• Assist with project planning, estimating, and job tracking
• Support concrete, flatwork, and site operations
• Communicate with field crews, customers, suppliers, and ownership
• Help maintain safety, quality, and production goals
• Troubleshoot field and operational issues as they arise

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction industry experience
• Leadership or operations management background
• Strong understanding of concrete, flatwork, trucking, or heavy civil operations
• Experience with scheduling, logistics, and project coordination
• Project management and estimating experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
• Willingness to be hands-on and help where needed
