Job Description

We are seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 4–7 years of experience to join our growing litigation practice in Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-stakes matters involving financial services, securities, and complex commercial disputes.

Responsibilities / Focus:

  • Manage commercial litigation matters from inception through trial preparation
  • Handle day-to-day case management and contribute to overall litigation strategy
  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery
  • Prepare discovery responses and client reports
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and court appearances
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness prep, document review, and case strategy

Ideal Candidates Would Have:

  • 4–7 years of commercial litigation experience required
  • Experience with financial services or complex commercial disputes strongly preferred
  • Exposure to bankruptcy and creditors’ rights is a plus
  • Strong experience taking and defending depositions
  • Excellent legal writing skills (writing sample required)
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to contribute immediately in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment

  • Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in office / 2 days remote
  • Required in-office day: Wednesday
  • Collegial, team-oriented culture with strong mentorship

  • Clear path to partnership (typically after 3+ years, based on performance)
