We are seeking a Production Trainer, night shift in Fort Wayne, IN, to join the leadership team of a well-establishing manufacturer.
Responsibilities include:
- Training Program Development: Assist the Training Coordinator by providing technical knowledge for updating of all training materials, including presentations, manuals, checklists, and hands-on exercises, covering all aspects of production roles.
- Cross-Training and Skill Development: Provide additional training to cross-train employees on different machines or processes to enhance flexibility and career growth.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to employees, offering constructive feedback and support to improve their performance.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records, including employee certifications, training completion dates, and training assessments. Assign and record employee training.
- Performance Evaluation: Work with the Training Coordinator and management to assess the effectiveness of training programs and measure employee progress post-training.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and process changes to continuously improve the training curriculum.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the Training Coordinator, Production Supervisors, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure that on-the-job training is completed effectively and efficiently while ensuring that it aligns with operational goals and company standards.
The ideal candidate holds:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a trainer in any applicable subject is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Prior experience in training, mentoring, or supervisory role is highly preferred.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment.
- Excellent attendance and performance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or similar software. Paylocity or similar LMS experience is a plus.
- Ability to present information clearly and effectively to diverse groups of learners.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others learn and succeed.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee records.
