Associate Attorney – Trusts, Estates & Probate

Location: Boise, Idaho

Experience: 2+ Years Preferred

Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 (DOE)

About the Opportunity

Our client, a premier and well-established law firm in Boise, is seeking a dedicated Trusts, Estates & Probate Attorney to join their growing private client practice. This is an ideal role for an associate with at least two years of experience who is ready to take ownership of diverse files and build meaningful, long-term relationships with clients.

The firm is known for its collaborative culture and commitment to providing sophisticated legal solutions with a personal touch. You will manage matters ranging from foundational estate planning to complex probate administration and fiduciary representation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Estate Planning: Design and draft comprehensive estate plans, including revocable/irrevocable trusts, complex wills, and supplemental needs trusts tailored to unique client objectives.

  • Probate Administration: Lead probate proceedings from start to finish, including court filings, creditor notices, and the final distribution of assets.

  • Trust Oversight: Direct trust administration processes and advise fiduciaries on their legal obligations and compliance requirements.

  • Strategic Counsel: Represent clients in both uncontested and contested probate matters, offering steady guidance through sensitive family transitions.

  • Professional Collaboration: Work closely with financial advisors, CPAs, and firm partners to implement holistic wealth-transfer and tax-planning strategies.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from an accredited law school.

  • Licensure: Active license to practice law in Idaho (or eligible for immediate reciprocity).

  • Expertise: 2+ years of practice focused on trusts, estates, and probate. A working knowledge of the Idaho Uniform Probate Code is highly preferred.

  • Drafting Excellence: Exceptional writing skills with a keen eye for the technical nuances of estate documents.

  • Emotional Intelligence: The ability to handle sensitive client matters with professionalism, empathy, and absolute discretion.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
