Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of industrial machinery and related components. This role leads production, maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts while driving operational excellence, quality, and on-time delivery. The Operations Manager works cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, quality, and leadership to meet business objectives and support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations, including production, maintenance, and logistics
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, throughput, cost reduction, and waste elimination
  • Oversee equipment utilization, preventive maintenance programs, and capital equipment planning
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices across operations
  • Monitor KPIs such as OEE, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery
  • Collaborate with Engineering on process improvements, new equipment, and product introductions
  • Manage and develop supervisors, team leads, and hourly workforce
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety standards
  • Partner with Supply Chain to optimize inventory levels, material flow, and vendor performance
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in industrial manufacturing or machinery environments
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and plant operations
  • Proven experience leading teams and driving operational improvements
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma principles
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in machinery, heavy equipment, or capital equipment manufacturing
  • Multi-site operations experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Background in automation, CNC, fabrication, or assembly operations
  • Experience managing capital projects and large equipment installs

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a manufacturing plant environment with regular exposure to machinery, equipment, and production areas.
