CNC Programmer, Advanced Machining Development Track
This role targets a high potential CNC Programmer who wants to grow into a technical expert in complex machining. You will not sit in a repetitive programming seat. You will solve real machining problems, work on advanced components, and build deep capability under experienced manufacturing leaders.
You will gain hands on exposure to multi axis machining, tight tolerance work, and advanced machining strategy. You will build toward becoming a go to technical resource on the floor.

What you will do
• Develop and refine CNC programs using TopSolid for 3 axis, 4 axis, and entry level 5 axis work
• Support mill turn and turn mill programming, including live tooling and secondary spindle work
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies with guidance
• Run simulations and support machine prove outs
• Support new part introduction from print review through first article approval
• Participate in prove outs and document what works and what fails
• Troubleshoot chatter, tool wear, surface finish issues, and dimensional variation
• Build setup sheets, tool lists, and repeatable process documentation
• Work directly with machinists during setup and early runs
• Improve program clarity and operator usability
• Turn tribal knowledge into standard processes
• Identify cycle time reduction opportunities
• Build reusable programming methods and templates
• Progress toward full process ownership
What success looks like
• You become the person others go to for difficult machining problems
• Your programs run stable with fewer adjustments
• Your documentation improves repeatability and reduces errors
• You shorten cycle times without sacrificing quality
Required experience
• 3 to 6 years of CNC programming or advanced setup in precision machining
• Working knowledge of TopSolid or similar CAM software
• Exposure to multi axis machining, 4 axis or indexed 5 axis
• Experience supporting machine prove outs
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD and T
Preferred experience
• Mill turn or live tool lathe work
• Aerospace or tight tolerance components
• Strong interest in complex machining and skill growth
• Comfortable working on the shop floor
