Federal Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Federal Project Manager to lead construction projects from planning through closeout, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and client satisfaction. This role requires a proactive, organized, and technically skilled professional who can work closely with field and project management teams to deliver high-quality results on federally funded construction projects.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Safety

  • Promote a strong safety culture, working collaboratively with field leadership to ensure all on-site personnel adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.

  • Foster teamwork and collaboration across field and project management teams to plan and coordinate all phases of assigned projects.

  • Maintain alignment with client goals and ensure high levels of satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Execution

  • Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and local authorities to ensure construction deadlines, code compliance, and quality standards are consistently met.

  • Coordinate schedules and workflows with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to support timely project completion.

  • Support field teams in quality control efforts, including documentation, preparatory meetings, and ongoing inspections.

  • Participate in weekly subcontractor meetings and field coordination efforts.

  • Engage in professional development and stay informed on best practices in the construction industry.

  • Represent the company in community and industry organizations to promote a positive presence in the marketplace.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and issuance of submittals, RFIs, and project documentation in collaboration with the broader project team.

  • Organize and lead jobsite meetings, including Owner/Architect meetings, and ensure accurate meeting documentation is maintained and distributed.

  • Maintain and track punch lists and action item logs in collaboration with field staff.

  • Ensure proper documentation and control of drawings, specifications, and all project correspondence.

  • Manage project closeout procedures, including warranty documentation and client turnover.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Drive subcontractor and vendor procurement, ensuring clear scopes of work and alignment with project requirements.

  • Support risk management strategies and assist in developing GMP proposals and cost estimates.

Qualifications Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing federal construction projects.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams and external partners.

  • Proven ability to deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality work.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), construction project management software, and scheduling tools.

  • Solid understanding of construction methods, contract terms, project documentation, and drawing/spec interpretation.

  • Familiarity with Lean construction principles and industry best practices.

  • Knowledge of trade scopes, project sequencing, and workflow optimization.
