Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support heavy civil and site development projects throughout Virginia. This role will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to help manage project documentation, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, RFIs, submittals, and daily project operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy civil, underground utilities, roadway, grading, or infrastructure construction and be eager to grow within a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project management and field coordination
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Support scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking efforts
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries
  • Maintain project documentation and daily reports
  • Review plans, specifications, and project drawings
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure project progress and quality standards
  • Support safety compliance and project closeout activities

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of experience in heavy civil or construction projects
  • Experience with site development, utilities, roadway, or infrastructure work preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or MS Project is a plus
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
