Senior Project Manager – Data Center Projects (Structural Steel)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale data center projects from the structural steel subcontractor side. This is a unique opportunity to join a top-tier, privately held company with the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the contiguous U.S., while contributing to some of the most high-profile projects in the industry.

Position Summary:
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all phases of structural steel projects, including scheduling, coordination, and on-site construction activities. This role ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with contractual requirements while serving as a key liaison between clients, field teams, and internal operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of project execution from preconstruction through closeout
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules (drawings, fabrication, procurement, and erection)
  • Coordinate work between fabrication shops, field teams, and subcontractors
  • Track project costs, payments, change orders, and back charges
  • Oversee and support Project Managers, including training and performance guidance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders
  • Negotiate scope changes and support business development efforts
  • Monitor project progress, milestones, and potential risks to cost or schedule
  • Conduct site visits, review field reports, and ensure safety compliance
  • Assist with estimating efforts as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 5–7+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication, erection, and project management
  • Prior experience managing large-scale projects, preferably data centers
  • Strong knowledge of AISC and OSHA standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
