Marine Construction Superintendent
Our client is a highly respected marine and heavy civil contractor with a strong presence throughout Florida. Known for successfully delivering complex waterfront, marine, and infrastructure projects, they have built a reputation for excellence in challenging over-water and limited-access environments. Their portfolio includes marina construction, seawalls, docks, piers, bridges, pile driving, shoreline stabilization, structural concrete, and specialty marine structures.
As the company continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Marine Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations and lead project execution across a variety of marine and heavy civil projects.
Position Overview
The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader, acting as the direct link between project management and field crews. This individual will be responsible for safety, production, scheduling, quality control, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations on projects ranging from $100,000 to $20 million+
- Manage and supervise field crews typically ranging from 3 to 15+ personnel
- Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and clients
- Develop work plans, maintain production goals, and adapt to changing field conditions
- Ensure jobsite safety remains the highest priority at all times
- Communicate regularly with project management regarding production, scheduling, sequencing, and project progress
- Participate in project meetings and represent the company professionally
- Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping records, job logs, pile logs, and short-term schedules
- Assist with field operations as needed to keep projects moving efficiently

- Large-scale marina construction projects
- Seawall and shoreline stabilization work
- Marine bridges and heavy civil infrastructure
- Complex over-water construction involving barges, cranes, and marine logistics
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of marine construction and/or heavy civil construction experience
- Hands-on field background with demonstrated progression into leadership roles
- Proven ability to independently manage projects from startup through completion
- Strong knowledge of:
- Marine pile driving and deep foundations
- Barges, tugboats, cranes, and marine construction equipment
- Working in tidal environments and active waterways
- Marine logistics and construction sequencing
- Comfortable utilizing tablets, daily reporting software, and field technology
- OSHA 30 certification strongly preferred
- Experience operating boats, barges, or heavy equipment is highly desirable
- Crane experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety, crew management, and productivity
