This position plays a key role in delivering the technical foundation for land development, infrastructure, and civil projects across Houston and surrounding areas. You won’t just be pushing buttons—you’ll be building maps and plans that serve as the backbone for construction, development, and municipal improvement projects.
Provide CAD drafting and design support for a wide range of surveying projects, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, plats, and easement exhibits.
Transform field-collected data and notes into accurate, clear, and consistent construction-ready documents.
Ensure all drawings are completed using company CAD standards while being adaptable to meet client-specific guidelines.
Collaborate daily with licensed surveyors, field crews, and project managers to ensure alignment between data collection and final drafting output.
Interpret field notes, point files, and sketches, working efficiently to meet project deadlines with accuracy.
Assist with maintaining CAD templates, blocks, and project organization across multiple assignments.
Manage time effectively across simultaneous projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
1–2 years of drafting experience in a surveying or civil engineering environment, OR an Associate’s Degree in drafting, surveying, or a related technical discipline.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is a must.
Familiarity with survey documentation such as boundary surveys, subdivision plats, topographic maps, legal descriptions, and construction staking plans.
Knowledge of survey terminology, coordinate systems, and data referencing.
Experience with MicroStation is a plus but not required.
Strong attention to detail and quality — you take pride in accurate, clean drafting work.
Ability to work independently while still thriving in a collaborative team environment.
Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite for organizing and sharing project documents.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
