JOB DESCRIPTION

A growing and well-established reinforcing steel contractor is seeking an experienced Rebar Detailer to join its team. This position plays a critical role in supporting commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and large-scale construction projects by producing accurate placing drawings, bar lists, and fabrication details.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare detailed reinforcing steel shop drawings, placing drawings, and bar bending schedules from contract documents

  • Interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements

  • Coordinate detailing activities with project managers, engineers, contractors, and fabrication facilities

  • Generate accurate material takeoffs and bar lists for production and field installation

  • Review RFIs, change orders, revisions, and addenda to ensure drawing accuracy

  • Identify and resolve conflicts within construction documents

  • Maintain detailing schedules to support fabrication and project timelines

  • Collaborate with estimating and project management teams throughout project execution

  • Ensure all drawings comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements

  • Support field personnel with drawing clarifications and technical assistance as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Rebar Detailer

  • Proficiency with industry-standard detailing software such as aSa, RebarCAD, AutoCAD, or similar platforms

  • Strong understanding of reinforcing steel placement, fabrication, and construction practices

  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural plans

  • Experience detailing commercial, industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

  • Knowledge of CRSI standards and reinforcing steel industry practices preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Base Salary: $80,000 – $125,000 DOE + Bonus
