Job Title: Fire Sprinkler Technician
Job Summary:
The Fire Sprinkler Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire sprinkler systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. This role ensures that fire protection systems are functioning correctly and comply with safety codes and regulations to protect lives and property.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install fire sprinkler systems according to blueprints, specifications, and industry standards.
- Inspect and test sprinkler systems, valves, and associated equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fire sprinkler systems, including replacing damaged components.
- Troubleshoot issues with fire sprinkler systems and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable fire codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate with other construction or maintenance personnel to complete projects efficiently.
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repairs.
- Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technologies and regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications related to fire sprinkler systems preferred.
- Proven experience in fire sprinkler installation, inspection, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of fire protection codes (e.g., NFPA standards).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:
- Work performed indoors and outdoors, sometimes in uncomfortable or hazardous environments.
- May require lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in awkward positions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
