Land Use & Real Estate Associate – Florida | Zoning, Entitlements & Development Strategy
A highly respected boutique land use and zoning firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join its growing team. This is an ideal opportunity for an attorney passionate about development, real estate, and municipal matters to work hands-on with top-tier clients and leading professionals in land use law.
The firm is known for its deep relationships across Florida’s municipalities, high-caliber client base, and strategic approach to land use and development. Associates here gain meaningful experience quickly, working across a diverse portfolio of projects from due diligence through entitlement.
What You’ll Do:
Assist clients with land use, zoning, and environmental compliance from acquisition through development
Conduct due diligence reviews and prepare formal legal opinions on property viability
Draft and submit zoning and entitlement applications (e.g., site plans, rezonings, variances, conditional use permits)
Represent clients before municipal boards, planning commissions, and local government staff
Collaborate with real estate attorneys, consultants, engineers, and planners on major development matters
What We’re Looking For:
JD from an accredited law school and active member of the Florida Bar
3–5 years of relevant experience in land use, real estate, or local government law
Strong understanding of comprehensive planning, zoning codes, and Florida entitlement processes
Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and public speaking
Detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable working closely with clients and municipalities
