Land Use Planner – Florida | Strategic Role with Client-Facing Impact
A well-established Florida-based law firm is seeking a Land Use Planner with at least five years of experience to join its dynamic land use and real estate development team. This is a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to work on high-impact development projects, collaborate with legal and technical teams, and make a direct contribution to community growth and regulatory outcomes.
The firm’s planning team is deeply connected to local municipalities, boards, and stakeholders—offering clients deep insight and access into zoning, entitlement, and development processes. You’ll work side-by-side with attorneys, engineers, and consultants on diverse matters involving land use, permitting, environmental compliance, and site development strategy.
What You’ll Do:
Analyze land use, zoning codes, and regulatory requirements during property due diligence
Prepare and submit entitlement applications (rezoning, variances, site plans, land use amendments, etc.)
Provide formal planning opinions and viability analyses for new projects
Collaborate closely with attorneys in preparing for community meetings, DRCs, and public hearings
Support clients through all phases of the planning and approval process
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum of 5 years of land use, zoning, or planning experience (private or public sector)
Strong working knowledge of Florida planning laws and regulatory processes
Public engagement experience and the ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders
Excellent writing and presentation skills
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
Familiarity with development review processes and local government boards
