I have a client in the Charleston area with an immediate opening for a manufacturing operations manager, as follows:

Job Summary

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient production operations on the plant floor. This role focuses on supervising production processes, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in rotational molding or similar manufacturing environments and strong skills in operations management.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee daily production activities on the plant floor, ensuring smooth operations and timely production of dock floats.

· Monitor and optimize roto molding processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain quality standards.

· Identify and implement process improvements, including lean manufacturing techniques, to enhance productivity.

· Supervise and support production staff, ensuring proper training, task allocation, and adherence to safety protocols.

· Troubleshoot operational issues, such as equipment malfunctions or workflow bottlenecks, to minimize downtime.

· Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and environmental regulations.

· Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability through preventive maintenance.

· Track production metrics and report on performance, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency gains.

· Foster a team-oriented environment, addressing workforce challenges and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in rotational molding, plastics, or marine product manufacturing.

· 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly roto molding or similar production techniques.

· Proven ability to identify and implement operational efficiency improvements.

· Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or other process optimization methodologies (preferred).

· Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety practices in a manufacturing setting.

· Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

· Ability to thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and adapt to operational demands.

Preferred Experience

· Direct experience with rotational molding equipment and processes.

· Background in marine or dock-related product manufacturing.

· Proficiency with production planning tools or basic ERP systems.
