Job Overview:
The Plant Manager leads and manages all activities in the manufacturing plant, including production, quality control, staffing, and safety. Their goal is to ensure products are made efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining high quality and a positive work environment.
Main Responsibilities:
Manage daily production operations, including scheduling and workflow.
Make sure safety, quality, and production goals are achieved.
Track performance and find ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Lead and support supervisors and production staff.
Promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety regulations.
Work with HR to hire, train, and develop employees.
Coordinate with sales, design, and shipping teams to meet customer deadlines.
Ensure machines and equipment are well maintained and reliable.
Oversee inventory of materials and finished products.
Maintain quality control and address any product issues quickly.
Create a positive, team-focused work environment that reflects company values.
Qualifications:
Several years of experience managing manufacturing or production teams.
Knowledge of the products and industry standards relevant to the plant.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Experience with problem-solving and organizing work.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and safety practices.
Comfortable using production-related software; experience with ERP or MRP systems is a bonus.
Able to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment.
