gpac (The #1 Recruiting Firm in the Nation) is partnering with a respected, mid-sized law firm in California to identify an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who thrives on analyzing complex policies, advising insurers, and litigating high-stakes coverage disputes.

About the Role
This position focuses on first- and third-party insurance coverage disputes, with a mix of litigation and pre-litigation advisory work. The right candidate will bring strong drafting skills, insurance policy interpretation expertise, and litigation experience in bad faith, declaratory relief actions, and coverage opinions.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze complex policy language (homeowners, auto, CGL, life, excess, and umbrella)
  • Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights, and denial letters
  • Represent insurers in coverage litigation, including bad faith claims
  • Handle pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and depositions
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide clear, actionable guidance
  • Assist in mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–12 years of insurance coverage and litigation experience
  • Strong working knowledge of California Insurance Code and bad faith law
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
  • Proven experience drafting coverage opinions and litigating complex claims
  • Licensed in California (Active and in Good Standing)
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and client-service driven

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $145,000 – $190,000+, depending on experience
  • Bonus potential based on billables and performance
  • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, 401(k), CLEs, and paid time off
  • Hybrid work schedule (office presence required based on case needs)
