Job Title: Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction
We are looking for a skilled Heavy Civil Project Manager/Estimator with at least 5 years of experience managing and estimating DOT projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of earthwork, utilities, drainage, concrete, paving, bridges/structures, and roadway construction. This role involves overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout while also preparing competitive bids and estimates.
Manage heavy civil projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, safety, budget, and schedule goals are met
Prepare accurate cost estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and project requirements
Perform quantity takeoffs and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
Track project costs, budgets, and schedules; coordinate change orders, submittals, RFIs, and pay applications
Collaborate with owners, engineers, field staff, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution
Oversee jobsite logistics, materials, equipment, and crew performance
Support business development and bidding strategy for public and private DOT-related projects
Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction project management and estimating
Strong understanding of DOT specifications and standards
Proven experience with earthwork, utilities, drainage, concrete, paving, structures, and roadway construction
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications
Strong organizational and communication skills
Familiarity with HCSS HeavyBid and HCSS HeavyJob is preferred but not required
Experience with construction software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or scheduling tools is a plus
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
