Credit Analyst – Entry Level
Southern Illinois
Full-Time | Up to $60K | On-Site

A growing, community-focused financial institution is looking to bring on a motivated Credit Analyst to support its commercial and consumer lending teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a early-career professional with a passion for financial analysis and a desire to develop within the banking industry.

What You’ll Do
You’ll learn the fundamentals of credit analysis from an experienced team, working through real loan requests in a hands-on environment. From reviewing tax returns to preparing loan write-ups, you’ll participate in a full credit review cycle and gain exposure to commercial, agriculture, real estate, and consumer lending.

Key Responsibilities
• Review borrower financials, including tax returns and statements, to evaluate creditworthiness
• Build financial spreads and cash flow projections using Excel
• Assist in preparing loan presentations that outline risk, repayment ability, and collateral coverage
• Support loan officers by helping structure and price loan requests
• Participate in credit discussions and loan committee sessions (as a contributing, non-voting member)
• Document and track policy exceptions, regulatory conditions, and collateral details
• Assist with ongoing loan reviews and help monitor portfolio performance

What You’ll Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• Strong analytical skills and an eagerness to learn credit concepts
• Basic comfort with financial statements and Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail and accuracy in written work
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple assignments
• A self-starter mindset with a high level of curiosity and professionalism

Schedule & Work Environment
