Associate Attorney – Plaintiff Personal Injury / Toxic Tort
Location: Collinsville, IL (In-Office)
Experience Level: 1–3 Years Litigation Experience
Overview:
A well-established plaintiff personal injury law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join their growing litigation team. This position offers hands-on trial preparation experience, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work on impactful cases involving toxic exposures, corporate misconduct, and other complex litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage initial client consultations, onboarding, and ongoing communications
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and other litigation documents
Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and briefing
Prepare cases for trial, including exhibit preparation, trial notebooks, and witness coordination
Collaborate with partners, paralegals, and investigators to meet case deadlines
Attend depositions, hearings, and other proceedings (some overnight travel required)
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice in Illinois; Missouri license a plus
1–3 years of litigation experience preferred; toxic tort or mass tort experience a plus
Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple cases and deadlines
Self-motivated, competitive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel as required
Comfortable working with clients from diverse backgrounds, including industrial and trade professionals
