Personal Injury - Insurance Defense Attorney - Entry Level
Location: Missoula, MT Job Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonus
Position Overview: A confidential law firm is seeking an entry-level 2025 law school graduate with an interest in litigation. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in civil litigation, focusing on personal injury and insurance defense. The ideal candidate will have 0-3 years of experience and be comfortable managing cases from beginning to end. You will be exposed to a variety of cases and will participate in depositions, court appearances, and trial preparation. The firm offers a hybrid work model after 90 days, contingent on performance, and a billable target of 1900 hours.
Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of complex civil litigation matters
Conduct legal research, and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
Represent clients in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
Handle all aspects of cases from inception to jury defense
Direct client contact and opportunities to expand work
Collaborate with experienced attorneys across multiple locations to manage cases efficiently
Requirements:
Licensed to practice law in one or more of the following states: MO, MT, CO, IL, KS
0-3 years of litigation or trial experience, ideally in personal injury and/or insurance defense
Strong verbal communication and negotiation skills
Excellent writing skills
Some travel required for case management
