Job Title: Traveling Project Engineer – Bridge, Rail & Highway Construction
Overview:
We are seeking a Traveling Project Engineer to support complex bridge, rail, and highway projects across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in heavy civil construction and thrives in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate field activities including subcontractor communication, material procurement, and client interaction.
Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Assist with project documentation, cost tracking, and quality control.
Participate in site layout, surveying, and field problem-solving.
Maintain accurate project records and ensure work complies with specifications and standards.
Qualifications:
BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering required.
4+ years of experience on bridge, rail, or highway projects preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
Experience or training in construction surveying is a plus.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively on active construction sites.
Willingness to travel and work on rotation schedules as needed.
