We are a large-scale, family-owned farming operation managing acres of corn, beans, sugar beets, and wheat. We operate a high-capacity, vertically integrated grain handling system — not a commercial elevator, but the same level of responsibility, skill, and care applies.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Lead to oversee, manage, and perform preventative and responsive maintenance across our grain handling systems and farm equipment. This individual will play a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly, particularly during peak seasons like harvest. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, a proactive mindset, and hands-on experience with grain facility or elevator operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform regular inspections, lubrication, and adjustments on grain handling equipment and conveyors.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues including belts, bearings, motors, and gearboxes.
Maintain, clean, and service equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
Manage preventative maintenance schedules and documentation.
Coordinate with farm leadership to prioritize maintenance during critical periods.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
Provide leadership during high-demand seasons to keep systems running efficiently.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in grain handling, elevator operations, or similar ag facility maintenance.
Strong mechanical skills – able to repair and maintain conveyors, augers, motors, etc.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices.
Ability to lead by example and work independently.
Willingness to work extended hours during harvest (including nights/weekends).
CDL or willingness to obtain is a plus.
