Ocean Freight Manager

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Manager to lead and oversee our ocean freight operations at our Wood Dale, IL office. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in international shipping, strong vendor negotiation skills, and a passion for driving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day ocean import/export freight operations
  • Oversee carrier and vendor relationships
  • Negotiate freight rates and carrier contracts
  • Ensure compliance with global shipping regulations
  • Optimize operational processes to improve service and reduce costs
  • Lead and develop a high-performing operations team
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth supply chain execution

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in ocean freight management
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and practices
  • Proven experience in vendor management and contract negotiation
  • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
