Job Description

Civil Litigation Partner / Senior Counsel –  (Remote or In-Office in Los Angeles)

A premier law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Partner or Senior Counsel with 10+ years of experience in real estate, construction, and landlord-tenant litigation to join its growing team. While remote work is available, in-office presence is preferred for an intitial period. Candidates must reside in California to be considered. The ideal candidate is a seasoned litigator who can independently manage a full caseload from inception through trial. Experience with habitability defense cases for insurance carriers is strongly preferred. Broader insurance defense experience is also a plus. This role offers a high level of autonomy, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work with a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Independently handle all stages of civil litigation, from case intake through trial
  • Manage discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances
  • Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with clients and internal teams
  • Defend clients in habitability, construction defect, real estate, and landlord-tenant disputes
  • Work closely with insurance carriers, property owners, or business clients
  • Supervise junior attorneys or staff when applicable

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on real estate, construction, and landlord-tenant matters
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently from inception to verdict
  • Experience in habitability defense and/or insurance defense preferred
  • Active California Bar license in good standing
  • Strong trial skills, legal writing, and strategic thinking
  • Able to manage deadlines and high-volume caseloads efficiently
