Jr. Structural Steel Estimator – Growth Opportunity

Are you looking to grow your career in structural steel estimating? We’re seeking a motivated Jr. Estimator who is eager to learn and develop with a company that has been building some of the most recognizable structures on the East Coast for over 50 years. This is an excellent opportunity to join a steel fabricator that values training, mentorship, and career growth.

As a Jr. Estimator, you’ll work directly under the Estimating Manager and alongside a seasoned team to learn the ins and outs of structural steel estimating. You’ll receive hands-on exposure to complex projects and guidance from industry experts while building a strong foundation for a long-term career.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with preparing conceptual budgets and project estimates

  • Learn to review and interpret architectural/structural drawings and specifications

  • Support accurate material takeoffs and apply material, labor, and finish codes

  • Help solicit, review, and organize subcontractor and vendor quotes (detailing, freight, joists, deck, misc. metals, etc.)

  • Participate in developing cost recaps and bid proposals

  • Gain exposure to sales-to-operations handoff meetings to understand the full project lifecycle

What We’re Looking For:

  • 1–3 years of structural steel construction or estimating experience

  • Strong technical/math skills and a willingness to learn

  • Familiarity with BlueBeam, Tekla PowerFab, or similar software a plus (training provided)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Word)

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • A team-player mentality with the drive to grow into a full Estimator role

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $65,000–$85,000 (depending on experience)
