Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Waste Collection Driver to join our team in the Chicago area. The driver will be responsible for operating collection vehicles to safely and efficiently collect waste, recyclables, or other materials from residential and commercial customers. This position plays a vital role in keeping our communities clean and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a commercial waste collection vehicle (front loader, rear loader, side loader, or roll-off).
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs.
Collect, transport, and unload materials at designated disposal or recycling facilities.
Comply with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
Interact with customers and the public in a professional and courteous manner.
Report any maintenance issues, route delays, or safety concerns to supervisors.
Assist with container delivery, removal, or swaps as needed.
Requirements
Valid CDL Class A or B (air brake endorsement preferred).
Clean driving record with no recent DUI or major violations.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
Physical ability to climb into trucks and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Prior experience in waste collection, trucking, or related driving roles preferred.
Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and reliability.
