Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at a family-owned company known for designing and building innovative industrial equipment. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from mechanical assemblies to automation systems, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop components, assemblies, and automation systems for custom industrial machinery
  • Perform engineering calculations and mechanical analysis to ensure function, safety, and durability
  • Create detailed 2D/3D drawings, assembly layouts, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Specify and source mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and purchased components
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to refine designs and ensure project success
  • Support manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly teams with technical input and design updates
  • Contribute to manuals, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design for industrial equipment or manufacturing machinery
  • Strong applied math and mechanical analysis skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and solid drafting abilities
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, hands-on environment
