Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation & Insurance Defense
Location: Remote (California or anywhere in the U.S. with active California license) 

Established litigation firm seeking to add an Associate Attorney (2–10 years of experience) to its team. The firm has a strong reputation in civil litigation and insurance defense, with practice areas spanning construction defect, product liability, professional negligence, environmental torts, and complex tort and business disputes.

This is a great opportunity for an attorney who wants to gain hands-on experience with challenging, high-value cases while developing trial and litigation skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload in areas such as insurance coverage, construction defect, product liability, and general tort litigation.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements.

  • Conduct and defend depositions, hearings, and mediations.

  • Collaborate with partners on litigation strategy and trial preparation.

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including motion practice and, when appropriate, trial.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide timely case updates.

Qualifications

  • J.D. and active California bar license (must be licensed and in good standing).

  • 2–10 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or related practice areas.

  • Strong legal writing, research, and courtroom skills.

  • Ability to manage cases independently with appropriate guidance based on level of experience.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and client-relations skills.

  • Trial or deposition experience is a plus, but not required.
