Job Description

Gpac is working with a well-established, fast-growing national company that is seeking a Plant Manager for their facility in western Kentucky.

They are looking for someone who is hands-on, self-starter with the ability to motivate and lead staff, and reach production goals while adhering to the highest safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • All aspects of plant management to assure cost effective, timely and efficient production and coordinate distribution of consistently high-quality products.
  • Manages plant costs regarding facilities and employees with headquarter office.
  • Work with a full operation management structure including maintenance, quality assurance, warehouse, sanitation, finance, and human resources.
  • Leads staffing by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring and developing steps of the process by setting processing instructions, observing control points and equipment, monitoring staff.
  • Setting productions shifts accomplishing product manufacturing goals by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Compiles and analyzes production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in food packaging plant-mandatory
  • 5+ years of experience managing in a USDA and/or FDA food, meat and packaging manufacturing facility
  • HACCP certification a plus
  • Food safety knowledge
