Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed estimates for demolition and excavation scopes.
- Perform site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary field data.
- Quantify materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to develop accurate, competitive bids.
- Identify potential cost risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Track and maintain historical cost data for future reference.
- Prepare and present bid packages and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors for pricing and availability.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience estimating construction projects, with a focus on demolition and excavation.
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, materials, and applicable regulations.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple estimates simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Valid driver's license; occasional site visits required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience estimating for government or municipal contracts.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
