gpac is working with a food manufacturer in Central Massachusetts seeking an experienced FSQA (Food Safety & Quality Assurance) Manager with a strong background in quality assurance, seafood processing, and sanitation management.

The ideal candidate will hold certifications in SQF and HACCP and have a proven track record in the food industry, preferably in seafood. This leadership role reports directly to the Plant Manager and plays a vital role in ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all FSQA operations across the facility, ensuring compliance with SQF, HACCP, and company standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 4 QA Technicians and 1 QA Supervisor.
  • Manage the sanitation department, including 7 sanitation technicians and 1 sanitation manager.
  • Collaborate with production and sanitation leadership to maintain food safety and quality throughout processing.
  • Monitor and improve FSQA systems and procedures.
  • Act as a key contact during audits and inspections.
  • Provide training, support, and performance feedback to FSQA and sanitation teams.
  • Be flexible during the initial training period and adapt to shifting priorities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong QA background, preferably in seafood or related food industries.
  • HACCP and SQF certification required.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in FSQA leadership roles.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with production and sanitation.
