Junior Attorney, Insurance Coverage - Remote/Norfolk, VA

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney eager to gain hands-on experience in a specialized and intellectually stimulating area of law. You'll be instrumental in analyzing critical documents, identifying key information, and contributing to strategic legal decisions.

Location: We are ideally looking for someone based in Norfolk, VA. However, we are open to considering exceptional remote candidates who are licensed in New York or Virginia and are willing to make periodic visits to our Norfolk office.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct thorough and meticulous review of various legal documents, including insurance policies, correspondence, and litigation materials, to identify relevant information and key issues in insurance coverage disputes.
  • Summarize and synthesize complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Assist senior attorneys with legal research and analysis related to insurance law.
  • Contribute to the preparation of legal memoranda, reports, and other legal documents.
  • Collaborate effectively with a team of experienced legal professionals.

What You Bring:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar license in Virginia or New York.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a legal setting, preferably with some exposure to insurance law, litigation, or extensive document review.
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • For remote candidates, willingness to travel periodically to our Norfolk, VA office.
