About the Opportunity:

A highly regarded litigation boutique is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its Kansas City office. This firm, known for its focus on complex commercial disputes and insurance defense matters, is looking for a lawyer with at least five years of hands-on litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense and coverage.

Candidates should be capable of independently managing files, conducting thorough discovery, and representing clients in court with confidence. Experience across state lines, especially in Arkansas, is an advantage.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle litigation files independently from intake through resolution.

  • Conduct detailed fact investigations and legal analysis.

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery.

  • Manage document productions and prepare discovery materials.

  • Take and defend depositions.

  • Review and interpret insurance policies, contracts, and other legal documents.

  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, including oral arguments.

  • Support trial strategy, including direct and cross-examination of witnesses.

  • Collaborate closely with litigation teams and provide mentorship as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership in Missouri and Kansas.

  • Admission in Arkansas is preferred but not required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial litigation experience.

  • Proven track record in insurance defense and/or coverage litigation.

  • Strong drafting, research, and courtroom advocacy skills.

  • Ability to manage cases independently and contribute effectively to team strategy.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $125,000 – $165,000, depending on experience and additional licensure.
