Job Title: Project Manager – Structural Steel
Position Overview:
A well-established structural steel fabrication and erection company, in partnership with gpac, is seeking a qualified Project Manager to oversee and execute structural steel projects from contract award through final closeout. This is a critical role for someone with a solid background in steel construction who can manage multiple stakeholders, keep schedules on track, and drive successful outcomes in the field and in the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage structural steel projects from start to finish, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination
Coordinate with detailing, fabrication, and erection teams to ensure smooth project flow
Review structural and architectural drawings to validate scope and sequencing
Oversee submittals, RFIs, change orders, and documentation
Work closely with general contractors, engineers, and field supervisors to resolve issues
Monitor fabrication and erection progress against schedule and budget goals
Ensure compliance with safety standards, contract documents, and quality requirements
Lead internal and external project meetings, site visits, and progress reporting
Qualifications:
Minimum 3–5 years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication and/or erection
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders under tight deadlines
Strong understanding of steel construction processes, materials, and erection practices
Able to read and interpret structural drawings, shop details, and connection designs
Effective communicator with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Proficient with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite
