Affordable Housing & LIHTC Transactions Attorney

Compensation: BOE $200,000 – $250,000+
Benefits: Top-tier benefits package
Location: Fully Remote

My client is seeking a highly motivated attorney with strong real estate and financing experience to join our nationally recognized practice focused on affordable housing and low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC). This role offers the chance to lead sophisticated transactions from start to finish while working directly with developers, lenders, and governmental entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in purchase and sale transactions representing purchasers, including negotiations, documentation, title review, due diligence, and property transfers.

  • Draft and negotiate easements, licenses, joint use, and cost-sharing agreements necessary for ongoing project operations.

  • Manage construction-to-permanent financing conversions for borrowers and developers, including conventional bank loans and complex multi-source government financing.

  • Drive real estate financing transactions involving private, nonprofit, and governmental lenders, as well as direct tax credit investors and investment funds—taking ownership of debt, equity, and overall project coordination with limited supervision.

  • Develop working knowledge of economic projections, tax credit structures, and investor requirements, spotting issues such as minimum gain or capital account discrepancies.

  • Draft legal opinions with minimal oversight.

  • Build strong relationships with state and local agencies and serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating public-private partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in affordable housing, LIHTC, or complex real estate/financing transactions.

  • Ability to independently handle negotiations, documentation, and project management with limited partner supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills and client service mindset.

  • Proven ability to work on multi-faceted transactions with numerous moving parts.

Why Join?

This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a fully remote, nationally-recognized practice with the resources, support, and platform to thrive. You will play a critical role in projects that directly impact affordable housing development while enjoying competitive compensation ($200K–$250K+ BOE), premier benefits, and long-term career growth.
