Construction Manager – JOC Projects (Education Facilities) | Surprise, AZ (85374)

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Construction Manager with Job Order Contract (JOC) experience for education facility projects in Surprise, AZ. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient project delivery, from preconstruction through final turnover, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage K-12 renovation, modernization, and improvement projects from preconstruction through closeout.

  • Coordinate with school district officials, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to establish scope, budget, and timelines.

  • Administer and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout documentation.

  • Oversee estimating, procurement, and cost control for assigned projects.

  • Maintain rigorous safety and quality standards across all active sites.

  • Lead project progress meetings and provide accurate reporting to clients and internal teams.

  • Ensure all projects comply with district and municipal construction standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial construction management, with direct experience in JOC delivery methods and K-12 education projects.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project or comparable software.

  • Familiarity with Arizona school district and public works regulations preferred.
