A well-established plumbing contractor in the Kansas City, KS area is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in plumbing construction estimating who enjoys collaborating with project managers and leadership to deliver accurate, competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate plumbing estimates for commercial and/or residential construction projects
Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
Analyze project costs, risks, and scope to ensure competitive bids
Work closely with project managers, operations, and leadership teams
Assist with bid submissions, clarifications, and post-bid reviews
Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and pricing data
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in plumbing estimating or construction estimating
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Experience with estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Excellent communication and time-management abilities
