Job Description

A well-established plumbing contractor in the Kansas City, KS area is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in plumbing construction estimating who enjoys collaborating with project managers and leadership to deliver accurate, competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate plumbing estimates for commercial and/or residential construction projects

  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents

  • Perform quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment

  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing

  • Analyze project costs, risks, and scope to ensure competitive bids

  • Work closely with project managers, operations, and leadership teams

  • Assist with bid submissions, clarifications, and post-bid reviews

  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and pricing data

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in plumbing estimating or construction estimating

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

  • Experience with estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and time-management abilities
