Manufacturing Automation Engineer

CNC Machine Shop | Robotics & Process Improvement

About the Role

We’re a growing CNC machine shop that’s serious about automation, and we’re looking for a Manufacturing Automation Engineer who enjoys hands-on work and real-world problem solving.

This is not a desk-only role. You’ll be on the shop floor working directly with CNC machines, robots, and production teams to design, implement, and improve automation that keeps parts moving and machines running.

What You’ll Do

  • Automate CNC machining cells (robot loading/unloading, pallet systems, conveyors, probing, vision, etc.)

  • Work hands-on with mills, lathes, and multi-axis CNC machines

  • Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and maintenance to improve cycle times and throughput

  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, robots, and HMIs

  • Troubleshoot downtime and improve system reliability

  • Lead automation projects from concept through installation and production

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with manufacturing automation in a CNC machining environment

  • Comfortable working on the shop floor and solving problems hands-on

  • Solid understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and fixturing

  • Experience with industrial robotics and automation

  • PLC programming and troubleshooting skills

Nice to Have

  • Robotic CNC tending experience (Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, KUKA, etc.)

  • Vision systems, probing, or in-process inspection

  • Lights-out machining experience

  • Lean or continuous improvement background

Why Work Here

  • Automation is a real priority, not just a buzzword

  • Your work goes live in production—you’ll see the results

  • Engineers and machinists work together as one team

  • Modern equipment with ongoing upgrades

  • Stable manufacturing business with long-term customers

  • Room to grow and influence automation strategy

  • Practical, no-nonsense shop culture

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay and solid benefits

  • Hands-on role with real ownership

  • Supportive leadership and a team-first environment
