Job Description

A well-established civil engineering firm is seeking an experienced Municipal Engineer to join its growing municipal infrastructure team. This role offers the opportunity to lead and support a wide range of public works projects that directly impact local communities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects

  • Oversee project design efforts and provide technical guidance to engineering staff

  • Design improvements related to streets, utilities, drainage, and municipal systems

  • Perform street studies and evaluations for new and existing roadway systems

  • Apply traffic engineering principles to the design of signage, signals, and roadway features

  • Prepare and review technical reports, correspondence, and documentation

  • Maintain project databases and mapping systems

  • Provide field engineering support, conduct site visits, and make on-site recommendations

  • Participate in project meetings and support coordination with clients and internal teams

  • Perform additional duties as needed to support project success


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or close to obtaining

  • 6+ years of experience in municipal engineering design and project delivery

  • Strong knowledge of water, wastewater, stormwater, and roadway infrastructure systems

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, MicroStation, and OpenRoads

  • Familiarity with stormwater modeling software

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines
