We are looking for a Project Engineer – Transportation to join a dynamic Transportation Group, working on diverse infrastructure projects across the Chicago Region.

This is an exciting opportunity for early-career civil engineers or engineers with a few years of experience to gain hands-on experience in planning, design, and construction of transportation projects while advancing their career in a mentorship-rich, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to project teams and support planning, design, and reporting on transportation projects

  • Provide construction oversight and management for roadway, intersection, and traffic signal projects

  • Assist in ensuring projects meet IDOT standards, Phase I/II design requirements, and MFT regulations

  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget

  • Develop skills in traffic modeling software (HCS, Synchro) and MicroStation

  • Learn from senior engineers and participate in professional development initiatives

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

  • EIT certification secured or ability to obtain

  • Entry-level to 5 years of experience on transportation projects

  • Exposure to roadway rehabilitation, reconstruction, intersection design, traffic signal design, traffic studies, and shared-use path projects

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Alignment with a people-first, collaborative work culture
