Food Safety & Quality Supervisor
Western Illinois | Full-Time | On-Site
A stable, growing food manufacturing facility is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Supervisor to support and maintain strong plant-level food safety and quality systems. This is a hands-on, plant-based leadership role with visibility across operations, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
This position is ideal for a food safety professional who enjoys being involved on the production floor, working closely with operations, and taking ownership of food safety systems — not a desk-only role.
Key Responsibilities:
Verify and support food safety and quality systems including HACCP, sanitation, prerequisite programs, plant environment, and finished products
Collaborate with operations to initiate, track, and close CAPAs
Ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and customer food safety requirements
Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits
Investigate food safety incidents and support corrective actions and documentation
Verify finished product release and maintain food safety records
Serve as backup SQF Practitioner when assigned
Support food safety and quality training and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
2+ years of food safety or quality experience in food or feed manufacturing
PCQI certification required
HACCP certification required
Experience working closely with plant operations
Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred:
Manufacturing environment experience
SQF experience or ability to obtain certification
