Job Title: Loan Officer
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Loan Officer to develop, underwrite, and manage loan relationships while providing exceptional service to customers. This role focuses on building relationships, evaluating credit needs, and supporting the bank’s lending growth in accordance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, financially savvy, and comfortable working with individuals and businesses in a community banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage a portfolio of loan relationships (consumer, commercial, and/or agricultural, depending on bank needs)
Meet with customers to understand borrowing needs and recommend appropriate credit solutions
Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and cash flow to assess creditworthiness
Structure, underwrite, and close loan requests in compliance with bank policies
Maintain ongoing relationships through regular customer contact and portfolio reviews
Monitor loan performance and manage credit risk
Collaborate with credit, operations, and compliance teams
Participate in business development and community outreach activities
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of lending, credit analysis, or banking experience preferred
Strong understanding of loan products, underwriting principles, and risk management
Ability to analyze financial information and make sound credit recommendations
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards
Preferred Experience
Community or regional bank experience
Experience with consumer, commercial, or agricultural lending
Local market knowledge within Kentucky
